Female Center Release Paths
Richland Parish Detention Center (Female) is a sheriff-operated parish jail. DPS&C lists it separately from the male unit. A woman held on a local charge may leave after bond posts, a court issues a release order, charges are dismissed, or a local term ends. The Fifth Judicial District record establishes the legal action. The sheriff event establishes the actual local departure.

The directory establishes facility identity, but current release confirmation still belongs with the sheriff record and any receiving agency.

The records custodian uses a different address from the Highway 15 facility. Richland requires a written request delivered by mail or hand. The official sheriff instructions say another method will not be treated as received or processed.

Include the requester's name, a copy of a driver's license or photo ID showing date of birth, a return address, and enough detail to identify the female-unit booking. Request the booking number, booking date and time, arresting agency, holding facility, actual release date and time, release disposition, releasing authority, court or bond reference, transfer destination, and associated booking photograph to the extent each item is maintained and public.
The custodian may redact exempt content while producing the separable public portion. Juvenile, sealed, expunged, investigative, safety-sensitive, and other legally protected information can affect the response. Ask for the statutory basis when a portion is withheld. The office says it will contact the requester within five days of receipt, excluding weekends and legal public holidays. That may be an invoice, a request for more detail, or an effort to narrow a burdensome request. It is not a promise that all records arrive in five calendar days.
Supervision After Female Center Release

Louisiana rules divide sharply by offense date. R.S. 15:571.3 governs important older regimes. For eligible felony offenses committed on or after August 1, 2024, R.S. 15:571.3.1 generally permits ordinary diminution up to 15 percent, with exclusions and other credits or forfeitures. The often-repeated “85 percent” description is not universal.

Because credits, forfeiture, sentence paperwork, and detainers can move the date, only a completed female-unit or state release event confirms physical departure.

Why Richland Lists Two Units
The official state directory separates male and female detention-center entries. That distinction matters because the female unit has its own listed street address while the male unit has conflicting 456 and 474 Highway 15 listings. A request should name the female unit and the specific booking so the custodian does not have to infer which facility record is sought.
Both units share the same release hierarchy: sheriff event for actual local departure, court file for legal cause, and the appropriate state, federal, or immigration source when another authority is involved.
